Well, hasn’t this been an interesting year? For better or worse, no matter where you live, or what you believe, I think we can all agree on that. Here in South Australia, we have been very fortunate to not have been as badly affected as some places in the world, largely attributed to an early lockdown, with reasonably clear guidelines, and the majority of people doing the right thing. It is so easy to become stressed when the world has changed almost overnight, and I feel for those overseas who are far more affected than we have been. Just before the first lockdown here in March, I had begun a meditation challenge, which turned out to be the perfect tool to stay centered, grounded, and positive. I now meditate every day and consider it to be integral to my life.

My artwork has also been a stabilising influence during this time. I have been spending lots of time painting and participated in two online workshops:

Beyond the Forest

Doing them both in one year has been quite intense, but it has been so valuable to learn, experiment, and delve deep into the techniques and experiences that inspire my work.

I continue to work on the ‘why’ behind my work, which has involved much inner navel-gazing. It really has been an absolute joy to dig and discover the method behind the madness, so to speak. More on this later…
