“Gestation” is an original mixed media abstract painting by Kathryn Gruber that delves into the concept of growth and the process of becoming.

A highly textured piece, using relief, layers of paint, and scratching to reveal layers below. The vibrant central figure symbolises development and hidden metamorphosis.

We are prompted to contemplate growth and birth as it unfolds in both the natural world, in making our ideas tangible, and within ourselves. “Gestation” invites introspection on the beauty of hidden processes and the power of evolution, recognising that transformation often occurs in the depths of our being before it emerges into the light of day.
