“I did not do it on Purpose” is a mixed media contemporary abstract painting by Kathryn Gruber.

This interesting title comes from the final words of Marie Antoinette, after she stepped on the foot of her executioner which were allegedly “Pardonnez-moi, monsieur. Je ne l’ai pas fait expres”, which could be translated to ‘Excuse me, Sir, I did not do it on purpose.’
